1. Can I just walk in, or do I need an appointment?
You can walk in anytime during our business hours. No appointment needed.
If you'd like to book a time for help with transfers, upgrades, or setting up internet, you can call ahead — but it's not required.​
2. How long does it take to get a phone here?
Most activations and upgrades take about 20–30 minutes once we get started.
If you're transferring data from an old phone or setting up new services (like internet or security), it may take a little longer.​
3. Will you transfer all my stuff from my old phone to the new one?
Yes, we can help transfer your contacts, photos, apps, and other data.
Some transfers are fast (iPhone to iPhone, Samsung to Samsung), but moving between different brands or very old phones might take longer or have limitations.
Tip: Always back up your old phone first if you can!​
4. Is your security system like Ring?
TELUS SmartHome Security is similar to Ring but offers professional 24/7 monitoring with emergency response if alarms go off.
You still control everything through an app, but with TELUS you also get service bundles like smart locks, cameras, alarms, and motion sensors installed professionally.​
5. What’s the difference between TELUS and Koodo?
TELUS is the full-service carrier with premium features (like 5G+, Canada/U.S. roaming, and premium customer service).
Koodo is TELUS’s discount brand — it uses the same network, but with cheaper plans and simpler features.
Think of TELUS as premium and Koodo as value.​
6. Can you fix my cracked screen?
We don’t do repairs on-site at Comstar Mobility.
However, if you have TELUS Device Care or manufacturer warranty coverage, we can guide you through making a repair or replacement claim.​
7. If I move houses, does my internet come with me?
Yes. TELUS offers a Move Program where you can transfer your PureFibre Internet to your new home.
Just give us notice before your move date and we’ll help schedule the transfer or setup at your new address.​
8. How fast is your internet?
TELUS PureFibre offers speeds up to 1.5 Gbps for downloads and uploads, depending on where you live.
It's one of the fastest and most reliable fiber networks in Canada, ideal for streaming, gaming, remote work, and smart home setups.​
9. I already have a phone. Can I just get a plan?
Yes! You can sign up for a plan without buying a new phone.
We’ll help you set up a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) plan with TELUS or Koodo — you’ll usually get a discount too.​
10. Can I just buy a SIM card?
Yes, we sell TELUS and Koodo SIM cards separately.
Bring your unlocked phone and we'll activate a SIM for you with a new or existing number.
